Entrance test for Class V

This is my first blog! Hope i manage to get atleast a single comment..
Here you go!

I never even dreamt that finally my life will have a new beginning by coming to chennai..

Born and brought up in a orthodox family in Srirangam, a girl of my age(hardly 10 at that time!) will neva have a tinge of idea of "how a city life will be!"..
Hard to guess!! My Dad came to chennai and started practising as an independent auditor! He wanted our family to get shifted to Singara Chennai!!

He saw a house(rent) in north chennai(Thiruvottiyur). Everything was set for a complete makeover of our family.. Me and My Sister were
jumping in joy as we were damn excited about our new city life. Suddenly we both heard our mom asking dad "we never thought about their schooling, We should first see a good school in that locality..then we will carry on with shifting."..

Then my dad took both of us to chennai for writing an entrance exam in SRDKVV, a CBSE school!! I answered almost everything.. But parents of those who accompanied thier children for that entrance exam told that if the marks in entrance is less, admission is impossible in that school.. Before hearing that i could see a smile in my dad's eye.. But the moment he heard that news, he saw me with a bewildered look. Because that test was only for me, since my sister got admission directly for I std., but i wrote a test for V std(equal to IAS ). My dad asked me "shruti, whatever that may be, but please tell me the truth, how did you do the test?" , i seriously didn't know what to reply. I just smiled at my dad nervously!

Two days later the much awaited result came. ME n my dad went to school for checking the notice board for results. My dad only went to see it. I couldn't imagine my dad coming and scolding me after seeing those dreadful results. I desperately needed my mom to be with me that time. But thankfully, that time, to unleash my fears my dad came with a big smile in his face, he shook my hands hardly and told "congrats girl you scored the first place, so without interview you got admission in the school directly!! Am really happy for you".. I was literally jumping in joy!

My dad called my mom who was waiting anxiously for the phone call, picked up the call in the first ring and answered it with a much shaken "hello??!!". My dad told the happy news and gave the phone receiver to me. I never allowed my mom to speak, instead i narrated the entire incident to her. My mother simply told me "i know shruti, you will do it..come home soon.."

Then my life started in chennai as a school going kid. Then time started rolling off, change of place, new friends, a new beginning.. Will share my life in north chennai in my next blog!! Till then, Take care
